Female Genital Mutilation

The Female Genital Mutilation is a violation of women and girls’ human rights that involves the partial or total removal of external female genitalia or another injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.

The practice is present all over the globe and still happens in Europe even though the laws condemn it. The LAB4GE partners today share their concerns for women and girls’ integral health and call for more research and prevention policies at the EU level as health rights are fundamental for achieving an autonomous life and wellbeing.

The Learn Abroad to do Better at home for Gender Equality project is funded by Erasmus+ and more information about the project are available here: https://asfar.org.uk/project/learn-abroad-to-do-better-at-home-for-gender-equality
